We are learning about states of matter. We have been investigating how elements work together - how fuel, ignition and oxygen mix together to make things burn. We used a candle to demonstrate how a solid can turn in to a liquid and back to a solid. If you add energy (heat ) to a solid, it will melt. We then used a glass to cover the burning flame and it went out. This is because the flame burnt up all of the oxygen and therefore the flame went out.
